About AUTEX and E-TEAM

AUTEX stands for the Association of Universities for Textiles and is a worldwide network of textile universities. It was founded in 1994. Over the years a strong enlargement took place and the Association currently has 38 members from 28 countries, covering Europe, Asia, Australia and the USA.

The mission of AUTEX is to facilitate co-operation amongst its members in high level textile education and research. It’s motto is stronger together.

The current chair is Prof. Mirela Blaga from “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iasi in Romania.

The secretariat is located at Ghent University, Department of Materials, Textiles and Chemical Engineering.

E-Team (European Textile Engineering Advanced Master) has started almost 20 years ago as the joint master of AUTEX. It has now obtained a global character and becomes WE-TEAM from the academic year 2021-2022 onwards. The programme is still unique in its concept. It offers students an exceptional level of mobility and high quality education:

  • each of the 3 semesters are organised in a different location, the 4th semester students can carry out their master thesis at one of the AUTEX members, depending on their personal interest
  • each course is taught full time during one week
  • the lecturers are recruited from the pool of more than 200 qualified AUTEX professors.

Bringing together the best students, offering them the best AUTEX professors in each field and giving them a multiple international experience adds to their education and personal development.
